Opening Quote

"It is impossible to coexist with communism on the same planet. Either it is allowed to spread like cancer and eventually destroy humanity, or humanity must completely abandon communism."
— Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Foreword

In 1958, "The Naked Communist" was published and quickly became a bestseller, receiving rave reviews. Within a few years, sales surpassed the million mark. In the 1980s, during Ronald Reagan's presidency, if you asked Americans whether they had read or heard of this book, almost everyone would nod.

The book also gained attention from intelligence agencies, not only receiving high praise from the FBI but also being hailed by the CIA as the "Cold War Bible," with every intelligence officer having a copy.

The author, W. Cleon Skousen, was a popular historian, speaker, and bestselling author. He spent 16 years in the FBI early in his career. From that time, he began studying communism. This book is the culmination of decades of his dedicated research.

In 1961, Skousen added "The 45 Goals of Communism" to the eighth edition of this book. These goals aimed to destroy American culture and ultimately subvert the United States, drawing the attention of high-level U.S. government officials and being entered into the Congressional Record.

Regrettably, Professor Paul Skousen, Cleon Skousen's son, discovered through his research that as of 2017, 44 of "The 45 Goals of Communism" had been achieved or partially achieved! Consequently, he revised the book and incorporated his research findings into a re-released 60th-anniversary edition. Reader interest in the book surged again, and sales boomed.

Professor Paul Skousen is a mentor and friend to veteran media professional Fang Wei. The two decided to publish a Chinese edition of the book. Fang Wei discovered that while the book had a profound global impact, its early publication left two regrets: First, the history of the world's anti-communist movement only covered up to 1960, leaving more than 70 years of history since the 1960s blank. During this period, the world underwent tremendous changes. For example, the process of the Soviet Union's dissolution serves as an excellent reference for peacefully dismantling the CCP today; the actions of influential figures and the general public in the past also offer much to learn from for people in today's world.

Therefore, in addition to translating the original work, Fang Wei also wrote "The History of the CCP's Rise" and the history of the anti-communist movement from the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis to the present, as Chapters 11 to 17 of this 2025 Chinese augmented edition.

Another regret was that due to the CCP's continuous "development" of communist theory, the book's analysis of its absurdity was less targeted for Chinese readers. Therefore, Fang Wei also rewrote this section to make it more accessible, understandable, and pertinent.

This 2025 Chinese augmented edition has four main features:

1. Analyzes the absurdity of communist philosophy, demolishing the theoretical foundation of the Communist Party;
2. Reveals the Communist Party's way of thinking and operating, and points out its weaknesses;
3. Proposes key matters for the peaceful dissolution of the Communist Party;
4. Presents the magnificent history of the world anti-communist movement in a storytelling manner.

Sun Tzu's "Art of War" states: "If you know yourself and your enemy, you will never be defeated." As Chinese readers, whether you are in mainland China and wish to break free from the CCP's enslavement, or you are overseas and want to defend hard-won freedom, this book will help you understand the Communist Party's history, its way of thinking, and its methods, enabling you to find the best strategies to defeat it.
