Praise

"This is an amazing book. It gives us a clear understanding of what is happening in the socialist world and why Americans don't seem to get socialism yet!"
——Howard Stephenson, former Utah State Senator

"The Naked Socialist is both entertaining and practical. Professor Skousen not only strips bare socialism, but also provides us with good ideas to eradicate this scourge. This is a must-read for anyone who wants to know how America got to where it is today."
——Stefan Bartelski, host of the American radio talk show "Patriot's Coming"

"The Naked Socialist is a goldmine for understanding how socialism infiltrated America! It is the most complete and informative book I have ever read, and it can also be read as a fascinating historical novel."
——James Bowles, retired American professor, writer, and corporate president

About the Book

For over 100 years, a form of socialism that eschews violent revolution has been quietly advancing its goals in Western societies, and many of these goals have already been achieved, in whole or in part. Ludwig von Mises, the renowned philosopher and economist, incisively remarked on socialism: "It is not the pioneer of a better and more just world, but the destroyer of what thousands of years of civilization have created. It does not build, it destroys, because destruction is its essence." This book will take you on a journey through nearly three centuries of history, helping you recognize the seven pillars of socialism, master a magical method for easily identifying it, and arm yourself with the courage and wisdom to eradicate it. Let's begin now.

Foreword

In 1607, 104 British entrepreneurs and explorers settled on a small island in North America. This settlement was named Jamestown. They built a central warehouse to store all food and required everyone to "contribute according to their ability and distribute according to their needs."

But the truth was—threats and punishments could not motivate everyone to work hard. Because no one wanted to toil unpaid like a slave for others. This led to severe food shortages, hunger, and illness, causing many deaths. By Christmas, only 38 people remained.

The following year, several hundred new immigrants arrived, and the problem was the same—only 40 men were actually working; everyone else was just going through the motions. That winter, the residents almost all starved to death.

In the third year, 500 new immigrants joined. These unfortunate residents first ate all the food and livestock; then hunted small animals and ate boiled leather shoes; after everything was consumed, they had no choice but to eat the bodies of the dead. By the spring of the fourth year, only 60 people survived in Jamestown.

This was a failed socialist experiment in the North American colonies of that era. Chinese friends would find this very similar to China's "People's Communes" of that time. This socialist system of shared property and collective labor under violent coercion has led to widespread suffering and is notorious worldwide, making it easy to identify.

However, there is another kind of socialism that does not involve violent revolution, and it is much harder for many people to detect. For over 100 years, it has been quietly advancing its goals in Western societies. Moreover, many of these goals have already been achieved, in whole or in part. Under dazzling banners such as "science," "progress," "fairness," and "social justice," they appear to be concerned with public welfare, but in reality, they exploit human greed and envy, seizing power and continuously eroding precious human freedom.

Not only that, these socialists, like those totalitarian socialist countries, control various fields such as the judiciary, education, and media to destroy people's beliefs, corrupt their morals, promote evolution and atheism, advocate sexual liberation and homosexuality, and legalize drugs... Once human morality degenerates to a point where it no longer meets human standards, it will face the doom of destruction. This is the ultimate goal of socialism.

The German poet Hölderlin famously said: "What has always made the state a hell on earth has been precisely that man has tried to make it his heaven." This profound statement applies perfectly to both autocratic socialist regimes and gradualist Western socialists.

The renowned philosopher and economist Ludwig von Mises hit the nail on the head: "It (socialism) is not the pioneer of a better and more just world, but the destroyer of what thousands of years of civilization have created. It does not build, it destroys, because destruction is its essence."

To deeply reveal the essence of socialism for you is the original intention of this book. Although the facts and arguments used in this book are mostly based on the United States, they will be useful to you no matter where you are. This is because these problems exist in all countries, only to varying degrees; the arguments in this book are mainly based on the U.S. Constitution and universal values. The former has become a model for many countries in drafting their constitutions.

Next, we will take you on a journey through nearly three centuries of history, helping you recognize the seven pillars of socialism, master a magical method for easily identifying it, and arm yourself with the courage and wisdom to eradicate it. Let's begin now.
