This is an updated classic of the Cold War era... The book is well-documented and logically structured... It serves as a stark warning: communism has never truly "nakedly" exited the stage; it continues to challenge human values in new guises. Highly recommended for all readers who care about freedom and truth, worth reading repeatedly.

About the Book

For over 100 years, the red scourge of communism has swept across the globe, enslaving billions and causing 150 million deaths. Dr. Cleon Skousen dedicated himself to studying it, determined to help the world "truly understand the motives and ambitions of the Communist Party." The first edition of this book, published in 1958, was widely acclaimed as the "Cold War Bible." Senior media professional Fang Wei has augmented this book with the history of anti-communist movements from the 1960s to the present. This content remains compelling and reveals the true nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the fundamental reasons for the collapse of the Soviet Union, clarifying many truths the CCP has painstakingly concealed. Opening Quote

"It is impossible to coexist on the same planet with communism. Either allow it to spread like cancer and ultimately destroy humanity, or humanity must completely abandon communism."
— Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Foreword

In 1958, "The Naked Communist" was published and quickly became a bestseller, receiving widespread acclaim. Within a few years, sales surpassed the million mark. In the 1980s, during Ronald Reagan's presidency, if you asked Americans if they had read or heard of this book, almost everyone would nod.

The book also garnered attention from intelligence agencies, receiving high praise from the FBI and being hailed as the "Cold War Bible" by the CIA, with every intelligence officer having a copy.

The author, W. Cleon Skousen, was a popular historian, speaker, and bestselling author. He spent 16 years of his early career at the FBI, during which time he began his research into communism. This book is the culmination of decades of his dedicated study.

In 1961, Skousen added "The 45 Goals of Communism" to the eighth edition of the book. These goals aimed to destroy American culture and ultimately subvert the United States, drawing attention from high-level U.S. government officials and being recorded in the Congressional Record.

Regrettably, Professor Paul Skousen, Cleon Skousen's son, discovered in his research that as of 2017, 44 of "The 45 Goals of Communism" had been achieved or partially achieved! Consequently, he revised the book and incorporated his research findings into a re-released 60th-anniversary edition. Interest in the book surged again, leading to booming sales.

Professor Paul Skousen is a close friend and mentor to veteran media professional Fang Wei. They agreed to publish a Chinese edition of the book. Fang Wei found that, despite the book's profound global impact, its early publication left two shortcomings: first, the history of the global anti-communist movement was only covered up to 1960, leaving a 70-year gap from the 1960s to the present. During this period, the world underwent drastic changes. For example, the process of the Soviet Union's disintegration serves as an excellent reference for peacefully dismantling the CCP today; the actions of prominent figures and the general public then also offer much for today's world to learn from.

Therefore, in addition to translating the original work, Fang Wei also wrote "The History of the CCP's Rise" and the history of the anti-communist movement from the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis to the present, which comprise chapters eleven to seventeen of this 2025 Chinese augmented edition.

Another regret was that, due to the CCP's continuous "development" of communist theory, the book's analysis of its absurdity was less targeted for Chinese readers. Thus, Fang Wei also rewrote this section, making it more accessible, understandable, and pointed.

This 2025 Chinese augmented edition has four main features:

1. Analyzes the absurdity of communist philosophy, demolishing the theoretical foundation of the Communist Party;
2. Reveals the Communist Party's way of thinking and acting, and points out its weaknesses;
3. Proposes key strategies for the peaceful disintegration of the Communist Party;
4. Presents the magnificent history of the global anti-communist movement in a storytelling manner.

Sun Tzu's "Art of War" states: "If you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles." For Chinese readers, whether you are in mainland China and wish to escape the CCP's enslavement, or living overseas and want to defend hard-won freedom, this book will help you understand the Communist Party's history, its way of thinking, and its modus operandi, enabling you to find the best strategies to defeat it.
