Foreword

First, congratulations on acquiring this guide to the U.S. Constitution, which will be the starting point of your journey to learn about "American common sense."

The U.S. Constitution, concise and profound, embodies millennia of Western civilization and wisdom. It and the Declaration of Independence are two sides of the same coin. These two classic documents created a free, prosperous, and powerful America. More than two centuries later, they still shine brightly, hold great significance, and inspire.

Wei Zheng, a famous minister of the Tang Dynasty in China, once said, "For a tree to grow tall, its roots must be firm; for a stream to flow far, its source must be deep." History has fully proven that the U.S. Constitution is the root and source of America.

Today, no matter how intense the conflicts of American values are, no party dares to publicly deny the status of the Constitution. All parties revere the Constitution as supreme. "Unconstitutional" is a grave error in America.

This book is here to help you understand the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence in the easiest way possible.

If you are in the United States, you can draw inferences and apply these two classics freely to American political and social life. If you live in other countries, you will also benefit deeply, because "another's stone can polish one's own jade." These two classics are, after all, a shared human heritage.

So, specifically, who should read this book the most?

• If you want to understand the essence of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence;
• If you want to understand the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence but don't have much time;
• If you are a new immigrant to the United States and are curious about the vast prospects of freedom;
• If you want to teach your children about the Constitution;
• If you are a politician who needs to quickly clarify government powers and limitations;
• If you want to understand how to protect human rights globally.

This guide is suitable for you. This book is divided into seven parts. We recommend digesting it step by step until you can share your insights anytime, anywhere.

If we can thoroughly understand the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, we can turn our reflection on history into a guiding light, leading us through highs and lows, successes and failures, prosperity and challenges, towards the future!

Now, please turn to page 1 and start reading.
