Synopsis

For over 100 years, the red scourge of communism has swept across the globe, enslaving billions and causing 150 million deaths. Dr. W. Cleon Skousen delved into extensive research, determined to help the world "truly understand the motives and ambitions of the Communist Party." The first edition of this book, published in 1958, was widely acclaimed as "The Cold War Bible." Veteran media professional Fang Wei has augmented this book with the history of anti-communist movements from the 1960s to the present. This content remains compelling, revealing the true nature of the CCP and the fundamental reasons for the collapse of the Soviet Union, clarifying many truths the CCP has painstakingly concealed. This book will help you develop a keen insight to see through the Communist Party's lies and deceptions, enabling you to assess the situation, seek advantages, avoid harm, and seize the future.

Opening Quote

"It is impossible to coexist with communism on the same planet. Either it will be allowed to spread like cancer, eventually destroying humanity, or humanity will completely abandon communism."
— Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Foreword

In 1958, "The Naked Communist" was published and quickly became a bestseller, receiving widespread acclaim. Within a few years, sales surpassed the million mark. During the Reagan administration in the 1980s, if you asked Americans whether they had read or heard of this book, almost everyone would nod.

The book also garnered attention from intelligence agencies, earning high praise from the FBI and being hailed by the CIA as "the Bible of the Cold War," with intelligence officers each having a copy.

The author, W. Cleon Skousen, was a popular historian, speaker, and bestselling author. He spent 16 years of his career early on at the FBI, during which time he began studying communism. This book is the culmination of decades of his dedicated research.

In 1961, Skousen added "The 45 Goals of Communism" to the eighth edition of the book. These goals aimed to destroy American culture and ultimately subvert the United States, attracting the attention of high-level U.S. government officials and being recorded in the Congressional Record.

Unfortunately, Professor Paul Skousen, Cleon Skousen's son, found that as of 2017, 44 of "The 45 Goals of Communism" had been achieved or partially achieved! Consequently, he revised the book and incorporated his research findings into a 60th-anniversary commemorative edition. Interest in the book surged again, with sales skyrocketing.

Professor Paul Skousen is a mentor and friend to veteran media professional Fang Wei. The two agreed to publish a Chinese edition of the book. Fang Wei discovered that while the book had a profound global impact, its early publication left two regrets: First, the history of the world's anti-communist movement only covered up to 1960, leaving a 70-year gap from the 1960s to the present. During this period, the entire world underwent tremendous changes. For example, the process of the Soviet Union's disintegration serves as an excellent reference for peacefully dismantling the CCP today; the actions of prominent figures and the general public back then also offer many lessons for people in today's world.

Therefore, in addition to translating the original work, Fang Wei also wrote "The History of the CCP's Rise" and the history of the anti-communist movement from the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis to the present, which comprise chapters 11 to 17 of this 2025 Chinese augmented edition.

Another regret was that due to the CCP's continuous "development" of communist theory, the book's analysis of its absurdity was less targeted for Chinese readers. Hence, Fang Wei also rewrote this section to make it more accessible, understandable, and pertinent.

This 2025 Chinese augmented edition has four main features:

1. Analyzes the absurdity of communist philosophy, dismantling the theoretical foundation of the Communist Party;
2. Reveals the Communist Party's way of thinking and operating, and points out its weaknesses;
3. Proposes key matters for the peaceful dissolution of the Communist Party;
4. Presents the magnificent history of the world's anti-communist movement in a storytelling format.

Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" states: "If you know yourself and your enemy, you will never be defeated." For Chinese readers, whether you are in mainland China wanting to escape the CCP's enslavement, or overseas defending hard-won freedoms, this book will help you understand the Communist Party's history, its ways of thinking and operating, and find the best strategies to defeat it.
